Semi Colons
The clock was ticking. People all around me were tapping their feet on the ground; it made me anxious. The sound of pencils on paper filled the quiet room, accompanied by a feeling of dread. Today was the day that would decide my whole future, the last test before I left school. My mind was a mess; I closed my eyes so I could think clearly. The clock showed that we only had half an hour before we were supposed to put our pencils down and hand over the paper.
My stomach rumbled like a whale; I was hungry and it did not help me one bit. More minutes passed and with each tic, I became more nervous. I still had 5 more questions before I was done. I could sense the same thing all over the room, I could see people sweating, others looked like they were going to be sick. Five more minutes. I checked all of my answers and my spelling, then when I was happy with what I saw, I lowered my pencil and grinned. Now I only had to wait a few seconds before handing the exam that has more impact in my life than I would have wanted.
