The Magicians Nephew
The Magician's Nephew is the pre-quel for the Narnia books. In this book, a boy named Digory and his next-door neighbor and friend, Polly, are sent on adventures using magic rings that were given to them by Digory's uncle, Andrew, who is an older man, he is afraid as he is enchanted by magic, and tries to use others to try out the various spells he discovers. He send Polly off with a magic ring, and then Digory has to go after her and bring her back. Both of them visit a few different worlds and due to some unwanted series of events they get to see the dawn of Narnia.
My opinion on this book is simple, it is one of the best books I have read. Not only because it is the prequel of one of my favorite series, but also because of the descriptions and the magical feeling it has when you read it. I loved reading about hoe Polly and Digory had to make their way around a very promising evil that could have crated an apocalypse in our world. I loved reading about the beginning of Narnia and I loved seeing Aslan for the first time.
I would recommend this book to my friend Aleja because I know she likes books that are magical but have certain logic in them, so it doesn't seem that it is just butterflies and fairy, but the book has some common sense and reality in it. I would also recommend this book to her because I think she would enjoy the thrill of waiting for the ways Polly and Digory solve all of their problems in this incredibly magical adventure. I think she would enjoy reading about an evil queen, a talking lion, rings that take you to another world, and a horse with wings very much.
